I am so very sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in God's sure promise of a resurrection as set forth in the Bible. (Consider Acts 24:15; John 5:28,29) Those who are raised to life will have the prospect of never again being subjected to misery, sickness, or death. (Revelation 21:4) I hope that reflecting on these thoughts will give you some relief during this difficult time.

Shawn is gone now from this earthly dwelling,
and has left behind those who mourn his absence.
Grant that we may hold his memory dear,
never bitter for what we have lost
nor in regret for the past,
but always in hope of the eternal Kingdom
where you will bring us together again.

When I was on life support last year, I didn't know anything around me was going on. The people that love and surrounded me were the ones in distress, and prayer. When we pass on, the ones that miss us the most are the ones we leave behind. Not so much the ones that go on. Those who go are happy and know someday we will be together again. Forever is a long time. This earth is only temporary. The funerals we attend are for the living, to show grieving. Shawn I regret not having to know you, however I do know you were much loved by your wife, your children and your family. I've known Kyra for a long time. She has the kind of love in side her that is strong, and never ending. Some day, I hope to meet you some day. God bless and enjoy your journey! .
