Marilyn Weatherholtz Obituary

Marilyn M. Weatherholtz, age 90, of Upper Sandusky, passed away at 1:42 AM on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Altercare of Bucyrus.

 

Marilyn was born on April 5, 1932, in Upper Sandusky, to Frederick and Stella (Steiger) McClain and they preceded her in death. She married Harry Weatherholtz on November 6, 1954, and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2019.

 

Marilyn is survived by 2 children: Rosemarie (Gary) McCloud of Upper Sandusky, and Nathan (Julie) Weatherholtz of Mt. Blanchard, Ohio. 8 grandchildren: Shannan (Joe) Cleland, Shane (Kelly) McCloud, Heather (Larry) McDonald, Nick (Jessica) Hemmerly, Ashley Allison, Joshua Weatherholtz, Danielle (Curtis) Hoag, Cody Weatherholtz, along with 26 great grandchildren: Shawn, Rylee, Judah, Josiah and Colton Cleland, Dylan, Savannah and Sawyer Cleland, Carson, Connor, and Katelyn McCloud, Austin, Brayden, and Dylan McDonald, Evan, Natalie, and Madison Hemmerly, Peyton and Kota Allison, Landen, Sophia, and Preston Weatherholtz, Everett and Rosalie Hoag, Hazel and Isabella Weatherholtz. Marilyn is also survived by her brother Lee (Wilma) McClain of Upper Sandusky.

 

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Carol Hemmerly, 2 great grandchildren, Candase Weatherholtz and Shiloh Cleland, and her sister Charlene Spriggs.

 

Marilyn graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1950, she worked at General Electric, KFC, and Comfort Inn, she was the activities director at Green Acres Nursing Home in Kenton, Heartland in Bucyrus, and part owner of Love-In Care Nursing Home in Kenton where she served as the secretary. Most recently, Marilyn took tickets at the Upper Sandusky High School football games for many years which she enjoyed very much.

 

Marilyn was a member of Apostolic Gospel Church in Upper Sandusky for over 75 years and started out with Pastor Earl Little. She enjoyed going hunting and fishing with her husband Harry, collected teddy bears, and she enjoyed sitting in her front yard porch swing where she loved visiting with her neighbors and strangers – both young and old.

 

A memorial service for Marilyn Weatherholtz will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Apostolic Gospel Church in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Rodney Donohoo officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.

 

Visitations will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
