Joseph R. Stutz

Joseph R. Stutz, age 57, of Upper Sandusky, passed away, after a long battle with Cancer, on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

Joe was born on December 31, 1965, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Don G. and Sally R. (Linville) Stutz, both of whom are deceased. He lived in Mansfield and Carey as a child and Upper Sandusky for most of his life.

He is survived by his 2 sons, Michael Stutz of Upper Sandusky, Josh (Danyelle) Stutz of Henrico, Virginia, and 3 daughters, Brittany Stutz of Columbus, Chelsea Stutz of Marion, and Taylor Stutz of Upper Sandusky. He also had four grandchildren. Aiden, Eleanor, Margaret, and Abigail.

Joe is also survived by his sister, Kimberly (Ed) Newman of Upper Sandusky, and a brother, Don (Marcia) Stutz of Peoria, Arizona.

Joe was a 1983 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School. After high school he trained as an electrician and also received his Peace Officers Certificate. He was active at one time with Upper Sandusky Emergency Squad, also the Upper Sandusky Fire Department, where he served as treasurer for several years, and the Upper Sandusky Police Auxiliary. 

For hobbies Joe enjoyed cars, especially corvettes, and doing crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and helping the community when he could.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.  The evening will conclude with a time of sharing celebrating Joe's life.
