Helen F. Mawer, age 85, of Harpster, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 7:29 am at her home in Harpster.
Helen was born on October 29, 1937 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Harman and Roma (Karcher) Kinley, both of whom are deceased. She married Roger Mawer on July 20, 1982, and he survives.
Surviving are her children: Debbie Chestnut of Harpster, Leigh (Kurt) Richter of Woodland, California, Jim (Kyla) Nordyke of Upper Sandusky, Kim (Kelby) Collins of Upper Sandusky, and Matthew Chatlain of Harpster. 4 other daughters, Kathy (John) Frayer of Marion, Valerie (David) Bower of Harpster, Cindy Schmidt of Akron, and Janet (Steve) Anderson of Harpster. 21 grandchildren and
14 great grandchildren survive, along with a brother, Robert Kinley of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and 4 sisters, Rosemary Austin of Upper Sandusky, Sharon (Charles) McCarthy of Upper Sandusky, Ann Dillion of Eutis, Florida, and Kathy Kinley of Upper Sandusky.
Helen was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Casey Nordyke, and Scott Anderson, and a brother, Earl Kinley.
Helen was a homemaker and also drove bus for many years for the Upper Sandusky School System. She was a long time member of the Harpster United Methodist Church.
She had a love for music, and enjoyed playing her flute and piano, and in her younger years, playing softball and volleyball. Helen also enjoyed sewing, and going to her grandchildrens various school and sporting events.
Memorial services for Helen Mawer will be held at 11:00am Monday, March 20, 2023, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Pastor Doug Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, March 19, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
