Debra K. Voorhees, age 69, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at 3:10 am at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
Debra was born on December 11, 1954, in Marion, Ohio, to Willis and Freida (Benner) Mulvain, both of whom are deceased. She married Harold “Tony” Voorhees on January 16, 1971, in Bucyrus, Ohio, and were happily married until his passing on October 10, 2004.
She is survived by her 3 sons: Bryan (DeAnna) Voorhees of Upper Sandusky, Jerod (Darla) Voorhees of Upper Sandusky, and Joseph (Jill) Voorhees of Youngstown. 7 grandchildren: Hope, Quinten, Kayla, Blayne, Chloe, Hannah, and Jake, 2 step grandchildren, Jim and Magdaline, along with 3 great grandchildren, Abigail, Azlynn, and Amara.
Debra is also survived by her 3 brothers, Dan (Cheryl) Mulvain of Carey, Davey (Nona) Mulvain of Bucyrus, and Dean (Tammy) Mulvaine of Upper Sandusky, and her beloved friend, Jeff Walter of Upper Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her 4-legged companion, Abby.
Debra had many different career paths over the years. Most recently she served the community for the past 10 years as a cashier with Walmart.
She attended services at Community Christian Center for many years. Debra had a big heart for Ohio’s homeless population and served them in multiple ways as part of a ministry that she helped found. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge #1093.
For hobbies, Debra enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her gift of hospitality and the gentle spirit she had with others. She was often seen donning her lucky Sombrero.
Funeral services for Debra K. Voorhees will be private.
