Richard S. Fox

Richard S. Fox, age 96, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 7:30pm at his home.

Richard was born on February 3, 1922 in Mifflin Township, Wyandot County to Walter E. and Naomi A. (Spiegel) Fox, both of whom are deceased.  He married Ruth Roszman on September 23, 1951 and she passed away on July 18, 2006.

He is survived by a daughter, Barb (Calvin) Barber of Upper Sandusky, a son, Frank Speaks-Fox of Las Vegas, Nevada. 3 grandchildren: Allen Lund, Elisha Barber, and Calvin B. Barber, Jr., and 4 great grandchildren: Savanah Lund, Jerry Mitchell III, Monica Mitchell, and Elsa Mitchell. 

Richard is also survived by a niece, Mary Fox, and 4 nephews, Franklin, Daniel, David, and James Fox. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and his brother, Paul E. Fox.

Richard was a farmer and enjoyed woodworking, especially producing replicas of the Fox Covered Bridge with materials from the actual bridge. 

He was a long time member of the Wesley Chapel of the United Methodist

Church. 

For hobbies he enjoyed collecting antiques with his wife Ruth, doing genealogy about his family, and visiting his Amish friends in Hardin County.

Funeral services for Richard Fox will be held at 11:00am Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held on Sunday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
