Leta M. Forney, 90, of Forest, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 6:45am at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.
Leta was born on August 29, 1928 in Hardin County, Ohio, to Russell and Mabel (Yauger) Hankins, both of whom are deceased. She married H. Wayne Forney on October 24, 1945 and he passed away on February 20, 1983.
She is survived by her 4 children: Bob (Diana) Forney of Forest, Jim (Marie) Forney of Forest, Patricia (Robert) Cooper of Forest, and Marilyn (Richard) Morehart of Dunkirk. 11 grandchildren: Nikki Preston, Stacie Hill, Melinda Stewart, Sue Baughman, Kristy Blackburn, Scott Cooper, Jim Cooper, Joe Cooper, Jon Cooper, Lynnette Benson, and Phillip Morehart, along with 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Leta was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Arvilla Jones.
Leta was a homemaker and owner and operator, along with her husband Wayne, of Forney Sales and Service of Forest until 1992. Before that she had worked for United Aircraft Products from 1961 to 1973.
She was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren in Harrod.
For hobbies she enjoyed watching television, “circle books”, sewing and crocheting.
Leta will be remembered for her friendly spirit towards others, and her passion for the Lord. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Leta M. Forney will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Thomas Dearth and Pastor Chris Ewing officiating. Burial will follow at Hueston Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Saturday, October 20, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
