Jacie Lehman, 77, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 7:40pm at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.
She was born on August 24, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio, to John G. and Helene (Snyder) Herald, both of whom are deceased. She married Larry A. Lehman on February 13, 1960, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, and he passed away on September 11, 2011.
Jacie is survived by her children: Stephen A. Lehman of Westerville, Ohio, David E. (Lisa) Lehman of Upper Sandusky, and Becky J. (Steve) Rhoden of Upper Sandusky. 7 grandchildren: Eric L. (Liz) Lehman, Hilary A.(Scott) Dishon, S. Blake Lehman of California, Alec C. and Reid E. Lehman, , Hunter A. Rhoden, and Clayson S. Rhoden.
Jacie loved being GiGi to four great grandchildren: Connor, Olivia, and Ethan Dishon, and Foster Lehman. She is also survived by a sister, Kathleen (Gordon) Ogasawara of Kapaau, Hawaii.
Jacie attended St. Peter’s Catholic School and graduated from Upper Sandusky High
School in 1958. She worked for Dr. Wallace Knapp and the Daily Chief Union Newspaper, both located in Upper Sandusky.
She was a member of the Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, where she served as a eucharistic and hospitality minister.
Jacie was a member of the BPOE #83 in Upper Sandusky where she served as the chaplain. She was a member of the Upper Sandusky Emblem Club #536, where she served as president, and also the Ohio State Association of the Emblem Clubs, where she served as president in 2009. She also belonged to the 20th Century Mother’s Club, Alpha Usando Literary club, and the former Red Hat Society in Upper Sandusky.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Jacie Lehman will be held at 9:30am, Wednesday, August 15, 2018 Transfiguration of the Lord Church with Father Antony Varghese Vattaparambil, OFM, Conv. and Deacon Kevin Wintersteller, officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, August 14, from 4 – 8pm., with a scripture service being held at 3:30pm, and an Elks and Emblem Club memorial service will be at 8:00pm.
