Gabrielle "Gabi" D. Swartz

Gabrielle “Gabi” D. Swartz, age 16, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 in Sycamore Township, Ohio.

Gabi was born a princess on October 29, 2002 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to her mother, Jennifer D. (Swartz) Young and her step-father Charles Young, of Upper Sandusky, and father, Terry T. Ratliff, Jr., Denver, Colorado.

She is survived by her son Bryden Swartz, a brother, Jarred Swartz of Upper Sandusky, a sister, Jordynn Swartz of Upper Sandusky, maternal grandparents, David and Juanita Swartz of Upper Sandusky, and maternal great grandfather, Richard Karcher of Upper Sandusky.

Gabi is also survived by an uncle Jeremy (Bradley VonJasmer ) Swartz and, and an aunt Janette (Chuck) Craft, along with her cousins, Vanessa and Evie.

Gabi was a freshman at the Upper Sandusky High School. 

She loved her horses: Hope, Babe and Miah, and was a member of the Rowdy Rider 4-H Club. 

For hobbies she liked listening to music, especially heavy metal.  She was a “nature girl”, and loved being outside, whether it was playing in the dirt, enjoying even the bugs or any animal that came her way. 

Funeral services for Gabi Swartz will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Betsy Bowen officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gabi’s son Bryden, to assist in his care, and may be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
