Floyd Y. Ginter, age 85, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on
Friday, June 15, 2018 at 1:15am at the Wyandot County Skilled
Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
Floyd was born on August 7, 1932 in Crestline, Ohio, to Boyd and Sadie (Gregory) Ginter, both of whom are deceased. He married Virgie M. Carpenter on November 7, 1952 and she passed away on July 15, 1995.
He is survived by his son Steven Ginter of Findlay, and a sister Alice Hussey of Celina, Ohio, along with many nieces and nephews.
Floyd was preceded in death by a brother Lloyd Ginter, and 7 sisters: Mona Perkins, Virginia Howard, Vera Hetrick, Dorothy Alspach, Elizabeth Hensley, and sisters, Mary Ann and Nora Jean, who died in infancy.
Floyd was retired from Engineered Wire of Upper Sandusky, where he worked for over 30 years. He also was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the US Army.
For hobbies he enjoyed buying, selling, and training horses, along with taking
car rides.
Graveside services for Floyd Y. Ginter will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Brokensword Cemetery, Sycamore, with Rev. Bill Williamson officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Bucyrus American Legion Post 181 Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Fund at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
