David L. Emerine, age 65, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 10:34pm at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
David was born on May 26, 1954 in Upper Sandusky to Wilfred and Katherine (Beidelschies) Emerine, both of whom are deceased. He married Cindy Michener on September 18, 1982 and she survives.
He is survived by his children, Michelle (Steve Nutter) Emerine of Upper Sandusky, Andrea (Brad) McCarthy of Upper Sandusky, Bethani (Marc) Aiello of Galloway, and Jessica (John) Tomain of Cincinnati. 10 grandchildren, Michaela Emerine, Jeremiah Emerine, Gabrielle Gobs, Kayleigh Gobs, Misty Taylor, Cheyenne McCarthy, Noah McCarthy, Fiore Tomain, Lucia Tomain, Giovanni Tomain. Along with 2 great grandchildren, Wyatt and Wesley Voorheis.
David is also survived by 2 brothers, Mike (Sharon) Emerine of Cold Spring, Kentucky, and Steve (Sue) Emerine of Maumee, Ohio and a sister in law, Kate Emerine of Nevada, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jeremy Michener, and a brother, Mark Emerine.
David was a 1972 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and went on to work for 32 years for the former Millington-Blackhawk in Upper Sandusky. He was currently driving truck for Averitt Express.
He was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church and also attended John Stewart United Methodist Church, both in Upper Sandusky.
David was a former Girl Scout Leader and for hobbies he enjoyed following NASCAR, watching the Cleveland Browns, listening to music especially Tom Petty, attending the Renaissance Festival every year, and camping and fishing.
His greatest love was his family and spending time with his grandchildren, who knew him as their Papaw. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for David L. Emerine will be held at 4:00pm Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the John Stewart Methodist Church with Rev. Johnny Phillips Jr. and Father Conrad Sutter OFM Conv,
Visitations will be held on Sunday, October 13, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the John Stewart United Methodist Church.
