Betty L. Lewis, age 87, of Harpster, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.
Betty was born on November 22, 1931 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to James Clifford and Dorothy (Young) Emptage. Her mother passed at a young age and her father was married again to Anna Marie Kellogg, all of whom are deceased. She married Carl Eugene Lewis on June 20, 1951, in Auburn, Indiana, and he passed away on August 13, 2017.
She is survived by 4 sons: David Lewis of Johns Island, South Carolina, Michael (Penny) Lewis of Upper Sandusky, Mark (Gina) Lewis of Upper Sandusky, and Timothy (Laura) Lewis of Cynthiana, Kentucky. 14 grandchildren: Rachel (Shawn) Dickerson, Seth (Lindsey) Lewis, David (Kathleen) Lewis, Chad (Melissa) Lewis, Crystal Lewis, Sarah (Jordan) Boreman, Jacob Lewis, Jonathan Lewis, Katelyn Lewis, Heather (Jeffery) Hartman, Heath (Maria) Lewis, Scott Lewis, Ashlee Lewis and Hannah Lewis, along with 18 great grandchildren, and a great great grandson.
Betty is also survived by a brother, Warren Keith Emptage of Columbus, a daughter in law, Deborah Lewis of Mt. Gilead, nephews: Robert Lewis, Craig Lewis, Rick (Sheri) Swavel, Rodney (Josie) Swavel, a neice, Roxanna (Randy) Rooper, along with many great nieces and nephews and cousins, along with her aunt Ellen Emptage of Upper Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Daniel, and a sister Marilyn Swavel.
Betty was a homemaker, and a graduate of Marseilles High School and went on to further her education at the Marion Business College.
Funeral services for Betty L. Lewis will be private with Rev. Craig Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
