Shawn A. Smith

Shawn A. Smith, age 47, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 2:30pm at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, Ohio.

He was born on December 19, 1967 in Tiffin, Ohio, and is survived by his father, Larry (Marlene) Smith of Mason, Ohio, and mother, Yoselda “Whooper” (John) Hurley of Upper Sandusky.   Shawn married Kyra Ann Bunt and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

Shawn is survived by his children, Johnathon Swiney of Midland, Texas, Sebastian Smith, Victor Smith, both of Upper Sandusky, and a daughter, Raven Smith of Upper Sandusky, along with 2 stepsons, Drew (Teresa) Dunnam of Cameron, North Carolina, Blake Dunnam of Findlay, and 2 stepdaughters, Athena (Nick) Field of Upper Sandusky, and Morgan (Jesse Lucas) Dunnam of Upper Sandusky.  7 grandchildren , and a brother, Shannon Smith of San Diego, California, and 2 sisters, Krysta Kananen of Cincinnati, and Kelly Smith of Mason, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Ashley and Tabitha.

He was a 1986 graduate of Riverdale High School and went on to serve with the United States Marine Corps.   

Shawn had worked for Easy Grow in Carey and before that for Footlocker and Footaction stores.  

Shawn will be remembered as a sports enthusiast, he loved playing golf, and following the OSU Buckeyes in football and basketball.   He also enjoyed reading about world history.

A graveside service celebrating the life of Shawn A. Smith will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky with Steve Sturgeon officiating.

Family suggest casual OSU clothing for the graveside.
