Ronald J. White

Ronald J. White, age 89, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and Siesta Key, Florida, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 12:10am at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Ron was born on April 14, 1928 in Marseilles Township, of Wyandot County Ohio to James L. Jr. and Sarah Eugenia (Hensel) White, both of whom are deceased.  He married Janice J. Myers on July 31, 1949 in the Brush Ridge Baptist Church and she passed away on August 8, 2006. He later met his loving companion of ten years, Christine Swinehart of Upper Sandusky, and she survives.  

He is survived by a daughter, Diane Abshier of Columbus, Ohio, and two sons, Bradley (Shirley) White of Helen, Georgia, and Christopher (Kimberly) White of Carmel, Indiana.  Six grandchildren: Denise White, Erick (Veronica) White, Brandon (Sarah) Abshier, Courtney (Charles) Ware, Sean (Kaleena) White, Scott (Elizabeth) White,  and nine great grandchildren: McKynzye, Addisyn, and Waverly White, Kennedy Abshier, Ethan White, Katie Nichols, Devon (Laura) Pierce, Kris Pierce and Eli Pierce, Two great great grandchildren, Aliyah Pierce and Adelina Rivera.

Ron also is survived by three sisters, Susie (Robert) Hawk of Nevada, Judy (James) Swartz of Harpster, Linda (Alvin) Tanner of Campbell, California and a brother, Fred (Linda) White of Harpster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother Kenneth White.

Ron worked in commercial construction his entire life retiring in 1994 after many years working throughout the United States. 

He was a 1946 graduate of Harpster High School and attended with Christine Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky.  He also was a life member of the Elks Lodge #132 in Bellefontaine, and in his youth was active in the Boy Scouts.

For hobbies Ron enjoyed using his gift of carpentry and construction in helping family and friends with various projects.  He enjoyed traveling, pets and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

 Funeral services for Ronald J. White will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 3:00PM in the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Brad McKibben officiating.  Following the service, the family will have a meal in the Lucas-Batton Reception Room and all are invited.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Burial will be held at Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or a Hospice of your choice.  Memorials can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH., 43351.
