Robert C. Batton

Robert “Bob” C. Batton, age 80, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on,Tuesday morning, November 7, 2017 at Marion General Hospital, Marion, Ohio.

Bob was born on August 21, 1937 in Bucyrus, Ohio to William and Mary (Border) Batton.  He married Barbara Wentz on September 12, 1959 at the Wharton Church of God and she survives. 

He is survived by four daughters: Natalie (David) Young, Deidre (Randy) Regenhard,

Renee (Mike) Morris, and Leslie (Mike) Miller, and one son, Scott (Jenny) Batton.  Ten grandchildren also survive: Danielle and Matthew Young, Presley and Corbin Rengert, Logan (Seth) Bodenmiller, Riley and Parker Morris, Kirk and Sarah Batton and Owen Miller. Bob is also survived by one sister, Caryll Conklin.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Mike Batton and a sister in law, Beverly (Newell) Batton. 

Bob was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ for over 50 years. He was employed at Kroger for more than 40 years.  Bob was involved for many years with both the Star Theatre and Bucyrus Little Theatre as an actor where he performed in more than 50 plays and musicals and served as narrator of Wyandotte Wyandotte, a local historical drama.  Photography, art, and reading were some of his favorite hobbies.  Bob was an avid fisherman and he spent many days and evenings at the local reservoir.  He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in various sports and activities, loved to bowl, golf, played fast pitch softball, coached Little League baseball, loved going to flea markets and antiquing. He will best be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Visitation for Bob Batton will be held from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, followed by a memorial service at 7:00pm with Rev. Brad McKibben officiating.
