Mary H Kieffer

Mary H. Kieffer, age 97, of Columbus, Ohio, and formerly of rural Nevada, passed away at the home of her daughter on Thursday, March 8, 2018.

Mary was born on May 8, 1920 in Wharton, Ohio to Arthur and Ethel (Schoenberger) Phelps, both of whom are deceased.  She was once married to Arden Kieffer and he is deceased.

She is survived by a daughter Doris Kieffer-Aspery of Columbus, Ohio, 2 grandchildren, Tony and Sandy Aspery as well as 3 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a son Kenneth, who died in infancy, a brother, Arthur J. Phelps and a twin sister, Martha Kuenzli.

She had worked for over 25 years at Wyandot Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide.

She was a member of Eden Homemakers, the Nevada Methodist Church and had been attending the Riverside United Methodist Church in Columbus, along with the Life Begins Group at the church.

Mary enjoyed helping out on the family farm, along with caring for her pets.

Funeral services for Mary Kieffer will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 16, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio with Rev. Herman Dick, officiating. Burial at Nevada Cemetery will follow the service.

Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the service on Friday, March 16, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home.
