Lydia D. Geiser, age 85, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on

Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 7:00pm in the Marion General Hospital, Marion, Ohio.

 

Lydia was born on February 17, 1930, in Apple Creek, Ohio, to Daniel and Edna (Amstutz) Nussbaum, both of whom are deceased.  She married Paul Geiser on June 10, 1951 in Kidron, Ohio, and he passed away on November 5, 1988.

 

She is survived by 5 children, Joanne (William) Miller of Mt. Blanchard, Stan (Becky) Geiser of Upper Sandusky, Janice (Joel) Kin of Columbus, Margie (Tim) Harris of Bowling Green, and Fred (Jaleen) Geiser of Carey.  Along with 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a sister Ella Horst of Kidron.

 

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 6 brothers, John, Wilson, Lester, Lee, Aaron, and a brother who was stillborn. 2 sisters also preceded her in death, Pauline Miller, and Anna Marie Hofstetter.

 

Lydia was a homemaker and also helped her husband operate the family business, Eagle Nest Hatchery, in Upper Sandusky.

 

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church, where she was active in choir, serving on the missions committee and administrative council. 

 

For hobbies, Lydia enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, cooking, doing puzzles, and playing various board games.

 

Services for Lydia D. Geiser will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, January 25, 2016 at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

 

Visitations will be held on Sunday, January 24, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and 1 hour before service time at the church on Monday.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyandot County Council on Aging, or the Building Fund of Trinity Evangelical U.M.C. and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH., 43351.
