Janis L. Holdcraft, age 72, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:37pm at the Marion General Hospital, Marion, Ohio.
Janis was born on September 24, 1945 to Richard W. and Mary Maxine (Cammarn) Niederhauser, both of whom are deceased. She was married to Thomas Holdcraft and he is also deceased.
She is survived by her 3 children: Teresa (Ron) Bailey of Nevada, Scott (Annette Kennedy) McKinniss of Marseilles, and Mary Patrick of Nevada. 11 grandchildren: James Tong, Joshua Tong, Jessica (Clay) Nighswander, Shelbee (Nick) Rodriguez, Michaela McKinniss, Monica McKinniss, Kelsey Robison, Tyler McKinniss, Neva Patrick, Adelia Patrick, and Noah Patrick, along with 7 great grandchildren.
Janis is also survived by her sisters, Nancy (Larry) Newman of Sterling, Virginia, and Susan (George Denzer) Abbott of Mascotte, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Mary Niederhauser.
Janis was a secretary for Kildeer Plains for the State of Ohio for 10 years, and also worked for Health First as an E.R. Claims reviewer. She also served as a foster parent for many years.
She was a former member of Nevada United Methodist Church, and the Galion Moose Lodge #303.
For hobbies she enjoyed reading the Bible and Amish books, crocheting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services for Janis Holdcraft will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Matt Garrabrant officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.
Visitations will be held 2 hours before service time on Tuesday, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
