Irene Marie Riedlinger

Irene Marie (Bachtell) Riedlinger, age 84, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, August 26, 2016 at her home.

She was born on May 31, 1932 in Nevada, Ohio to Clarence and Imogene (Morris) Bachtell, both of whom are deceased. She married David A. Riedlinger on January 10, 1959 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and he survives in Upper Sandusky.

Mrs. Riedlinger is survived by her seven children, Lynn (Julie) Riedlinger, Dale (Carolyn) Riedlinger, and Neil Riedlinger all of Upper Sandusky, Dean (Tammy) Riedlinger of Mount Blanchard, Laura (Eugene) Brodman of Upper Sandusky, Gary (Audra) Riedlinger of Nevada, and Diane (Erik) Brotherton of Brooklyn, New York, and twenty grandchildren, Matthew Riedlinger, Emily (Kip) Alspach, Kaitlynn (Mark) Yost, Devin Riedlinger, Lindsay Riedlinger, Allison Riedlinger, Nicholas Riedlinger, Seth Riedlinger, Brittany Sanders, Roy Rayl, Lyle Riedlinger, Tyler Rayl, Lene Riedlinger, Bethany Rayl, Dalton Riedlinger, Danielle Brodman, Alex Brodman, Lance Riedlinger, Ray Brotherton and Reese Brotherton; ten great grandchildren, Lucy Kinley, Riley Yost, Reid Yost, Lucas Alspach, Cecelia Alspach, Miriam Alspach, Holley Sanders, Callie Sanders, Auden Rayl, and Remington Theis, and one sister Pauline Vaughn, Upper Sandusky, sisters in-law Dorothy (Earl) Albus of Carey, Clara Ekleberry of Sycamore, Joan Riedlinger and James (Eva-Mae) Riedlinger of Upper Sandusky, and many friends, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ean Riedlinger, infant twin sister, Ilene Bachtell, sisters Alice Roszman, Betty Spore, and brother Kenneth Bachtell, brothers in-laws Paul Riedlinger, Earl Riedlinger, Kenneth Ekleberry, and William Vaughn, sister in-law Mary Loveridge.

Mrs. Riedlinger graduated from Nevada High School class of 1951. She worked at Timken Co. in Bucyrus after high school, as well as the Comfort Inn and Defiance Precision Products in Upper Sandusky. She was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Parish in Upper Sandusky. Irene enjoyed gardening, bird watching (Cardinals), playing Euchre, and working on the family farm. She loved spending time with her family, and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral mass for Irene M. Riedlinger will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Transfiguration of the Lord Church, with Rev. J.R. Hadnagy, O.F.M. Conv. Officiating.  Burial will follow services at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. A Christian wake prayer service will be held at 1:45 PM. on Tuesday at the funeral home
