Hazel L. "Granny" Willhelm

Hazel L. “Granny” Willhelm, age 85, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away

on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the Thornville Health & Rehabilitation Center, Thornville, Ohio.

Hazel was born on April 20, 1931 in Crawford County, Ohio to Daniel B. and Rebecca (Barrett) Lohr, both of whom are deceased.  She married John Willhelm on October 9, 1948 and he passed away on March 27, 2009.

She is survived by a son John (Cindy) Willhelm of White Cottage, Ohio, and a daughter, Pam (Bob) Looker of Utica, Ohio, along with 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. 

Hazel was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Helen, two brothers, Neil and Lonnie, and 2 sisters, Mary Ann Cochran, and Ellen Bollinger.

Hazel was retired from having worked previously at Millington Plastics, and Continental Hose in Upper Sandusky. 

She served as a scout leader and was also a former Pythian Sisters in Nevada.

For hobbies she enjoyed reading, crocheting, camping, going to theater productions, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

The family will receive family and friends after the service in the Reception Room of the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home where lunch will be served.
