Glenn A Kuenzli

Glenn A. Kuenzli, age 77, of rural Nevada, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 8:00 am at his home in Nevada.

Glenn was born on November 8, 1939 in Nevada, Ohio to Andrew and Eunice (Swartz) Kuenzli, both of whom are deceased.  He married Jana Gribben on October 27, 1973 and she survives.

He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Sue Jones of Longview, Texas, six grandchildren, Andrew Kuenzli of Nevada, Amanda (James) Baker of Harpster, and Stephen, Bret, Travis and Hannah Jones, all of Texas. Ten great grandchildren also survive including Jayden, Cason and Camilla Baker of Harpster.

Glenn is also survived by a brother Donald Kuenzli of Mansfield, and three sisters, Carol Streight of Whitehouse, Ohio, Imogene (Donald) Orts of Monroe, Ohio, and Christine (Sterling) Williams of Oxford.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Kuenzli, granddaughter Jamie Lynn Jones, a sister-in-law Sandra Kuenzli, and brother-in-law, Robert Streight.

Glenn was a 1957 graduate of Nevada High School and went on to work at the Timken Company as an electrician.  He retired in 1997 after 38 years of service. 

He was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, Upper Sandusky, where he was active through the years with the church.

Glenn, in his early years, along with his son Mark, raised and showed Hampshire sheep and market lambs. He raised and raced Standard Bred Horses, beginning with his father in law, George Gribben.  He served as the Speed Superintendent of the Wyandot County Fair for many years.  In his retirement Glenn raised German Shorthaired Pointers and then became involved with Pheasants Forever, especially the youth hunts and trap shoots. 

He also volunteered with the New Riegel Elementary School to play an active part in his grandchildren’s lives during their school years.

For hobbies, Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, especially the Buckeyes, Indians and Browns.  His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren.

 Funeral services for Glenn A. Kuenzli will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 1, 2017 at Emanuel United Church of Christ (the Mud Church) in Upper Sandusky with Pastor Jay Scott officiating.  Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio.

 Visitations will be held on Thursday, August 31, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and 1 hour before service time at the church on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County, Emanuel U.C.C. or a Charity of the Donor’s Choice, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
