David L. Huffman

David L. Huffman, age 75 of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 3:50pm at his home. 

David was born on March 30, 1941 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Dale and Elouise (Schindler) Huffman.  He married Goldie Minard on June 24, 1960at the First Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky and she survives. 

He is survived by his children: Becky (Joe) Bosley of Morral, Julie (John) Barrett of Upper Sandusky, Lorie (Jerry) Koehler of Upper Sandusky, Jeff (Joy) Huffman of Upper Sandusky, Lisa (Ryan) Rife of Upper Sandusky.  * grandchildren: Jennifer (Travis) McMahill, Adam (Anna) Bosley, Larry Hawkins, Heath Hawkins, Colby Koehler, Ryleigh Koehler, Jacob Rife and Emma Rife, along with 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a great grandson Aiden Bosley.

David owned and operated Huffman & Son Excavating in Upper Sandusky for over 40 years.

He was a member of Nevada Lutheran Church and a former member of First Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky, where he was a member for 50 years. 

David was a member of the Eagles Lodge #2184, Moose Lodge #1093, Amvets Post #777, all of Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies he enjoyed collecting and restoring old cars, and will be remembered for his example he led by his work ethic in all that he did.

Funeral services for David L. Huffman will be held a 1:00pm Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Tim Nilsen officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or a charity of the donors choice and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave Upper Sandusky, Ohio  43351.
