Christene E. Bard

Christene E. Bard, age 93, of Morral, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016 at her home.

Christene was born on March 20, 1923 in Springfield, Ohio to Charles and Lola (Martin) Drum.  She married Harry M. Bard on October 25, 1941 in Troy, Ohio, and he passed away on January 10, 1993.

She is survived by five of her children, Larry (Linda) Bard of Morral, Howard (Cathy) Bard of Marion, Ricky (Norene) Bard of Bucyrus, Charlotte (Douglas) Joseph of Delaware, and John Bard of Morral.  11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, along with a sister Ilene Jacobs of St. Paris, Ohio, and a daughter in law, Carolyn Bard of Garrettsville, Ohio.

Christene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Robert, a brother Rufus “Bud”, and 5 sisters, Mary, Leona, Phyllis, Irene, and Imogene.

Christene was a homemaker and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for over 25 years in Marion.  After her retirement from postal service, she worked part time as a greeter at Walmart in Marion.

For hobbies, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, raising flowers, gardening, and reading. She was of the Methodist faith and had a heart for others, especially when it came

to those that needed to be blessed with a meal.

Graveside services for Christene E. Bard will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Grand Prairie Cemetery, Brush Ridge.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, May 24, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salt Rock Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, or a Food Pantry in your Area, and memorials may be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio  43351.
